In 2007, we were founding members of The Research Liberation Front, an organization dedicated to ‘Setting Research Free’. The impact of the Research Liberation Front so far has been on changing the formats of research conferences. The RLF was the first organisation to bring the Pecha Kucha (20 PowerPoint slides, 20 seconds each) to the marketing world. Its latest initiative is to develop the new skills and aptitudes of young researchers which go far beyond the traditional quantitative and qualitative skills of the past.
